Overview

TimePunch should be usable by all people. For this reason, TimePunch has been designed with a particular to the barrier-free operation of the software. What makes our time recording stand out?

  • TimePunch can be operated completely with a keyboard.

Operation with the keyboard

Consistent operation with the keyboard is the basis of barrier-free operation. The following applies.

Login in TimePunch

In the login dialogue, the keyboard focus is already on the password field. After entering the password, it can be confirmed with RETURN. A successful login navigates the user to the start page.

On each page, the title line is read out. This describes the content. The keyboard focus on pages with tables is on the table header. You can navigate within the table by pressing the tabulator key.

Note: Inline navigation should be selected with TAB. The use of the ARROW LEFT and ARROW RIGHT keys skips the inline navigation. skips the inline navigation.

Forward navigation

Inline navigation can be found at the beginning of each table row. With the help of the inline navigation, dependent pages can be called up. can be called up. This is called forward navigation. For example, in the page "Monthly working time", to the listing of the individual days on the page "Daily working time".

The forward navigation can also be called up by a RETURN on any cell. If there is no special inline navigation is in focus, the standard navigation is called up.

Backward navigation

To navigate back one level, simply press the ESCAPE key. This takes you back to the previous page after you return to the previous page. After each successful navigation, the title line of the page is read out.

The navigation menu

Once you have reached the top navigation level, you can access the navigation menu by pressing the key combination CONTROL + TABULATOR to access the navigation menu. In the navigation menu you navigate from menu item to menu item with the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys. To navigate to a page, use the RETURN key.

The menu of a page

On each page there is a menu in which, for example, reports can be displayed or other commands can be called up. The page menu can be accessed via the keyboard by pressing the ALT key. You can navigate in the page menu with the Pressing the RETURN key activates the menu item and calls it up. Pressing the ESCAPE key takes you back to the worksheet. you return to the worksheet page or table page.

The buttons on a page

Most pages contain buttons that can be used to call up higher-level commands (for example, creating time entries). can be called up. The easiest way to navigate to these buttons is to use the ARROW DOWN keys to navigate to the last table row and then press the table row using the ARROW DOWN keys and then continue with the TAB key until the buttons are reached.

Tip: If you navigate to the last table row with the DOWN ARROW keys, you will not be able to continue at some point. The focus does not jump over the table, but remains in the last row.

To call up commands, such as creating a time entry, it is often easier to use the pop-up menu instead of the buttons. The pop-up menu is accessed by pressing the context menu key next to the right CONTROL key. To navigate in the context menu, press the DOWN ARROW and UP ARROW keys. The command is called up with RETURN. The context menu can be exited by pressing the ESCAPE key.
